Get to see a home to thousands of flamingos and the elegant chestnut-banded plover, set against the sweeping backdrop of the Rift Valley Escarpment. Enjoy birdwatching along the lakeshore, open plains, and nearby forest and woodland areas, offering a rich mix of species, with stunning sunrise and sunset views across this unique ecosystem.
Your journey also includes a refreshing hike to the hidden Engare Sero Waterfalls, where cool pools provide relief from the savannah heat. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to meet local Maasai communities and learn about their culture and connection to the land. Evenings are spent camping under vast skies.
Details: Elevation 600m with flat ground and few ups and downs · Mostly paved road, paved trail, single-track packed dirt/gravel · Pacing to Ngare Sero Waterfall: Moderate with frequent stops · Sun exposure: Hot daytime temperatures (35–40°C+) · Two nights camping.
