The Family Birdwatching Program is a nature-based experience designed to help families reconnect with one another and the natural world through birds. In a time when screens and busy schedules often limit shared outdoor experiences, this program uses birdwatching as a joyful and accessible way to reduce nature-deficit disorder while strengthening family bonds.
Families participate in guided birdwatching walks. To raise energy and excitement, the program includes fun, movement based activities and simple conservation tasks. These activities are designed to keep children engaged while allowing parents to relax, participate, and rediscover the joy of being outdoors.
Selected sessions may include family camping. Camping activities include campfire reflections, and early morning and evening birdsong walks. These immersive experiences deepen family connections, promote mindfulness, and help families build lasting memories rooted in nature.
