School of Birds is a comprehensive, nature-based education program designed for secondary school students and community centers in Arusha. Spanning seven months with approximately one hour of engagement each week, the program blends birdlife education with birdwatching sessions, nature-based games, creative arts, and guided exploration to bring learning to life. These sessions are designed to be hands-on and age-appropriate, fostering observation skills, teamwork, critical thinking and improve their natural problem-solving abilities allowing students to learn not only about birds, but from them while developing a meaningful relationship with the natural world.

The program is structured across the school year with four distinct modules. In the first year, students are introduced to birdlife, learning how to observe, identify, and understand birds and their habitats. In subsequent years, the focus shifts to deep birds topics, real-life projects, where students apply their knowledge to conservation actions and youth-led environmental solutions.

Beyond knowledge, School of Birds nurtures life skills. Students develop patience, leadership, communication, and a sense of responsibility for their environment. By reconnecting children with nature early, the program helps address nature disconnect while inspiring a generation that values biodiversity, well-being, and environmental stewardship.
